In 2013 I got the opportunity to prepare the E-Werk in Saarbrücken for a concert of the Berliner Philharmoniker under Riccardo Chailly as part of the Musikfestspiele Saar. This historical industrial building has been renovated some years before to accommodate all kinds of performances using sound reinforcement systems. Implementing a high-quality concert hall and optimizing the necessary effort was a challenging task. With a combination of classical room acoustic measures and electronic enhancement support it was possible to achieve quite remarkable results. I frankly admit that the mere quality of this great orchestra might be the key point of this fantastic concert experience.
