The Wonderful Sound Lab is a laboratory room in which the hearing aid manufacturer WS Audiology is testing and developing its algorithms. The planning for this room started in 2018. It was aimed to create natural sounding environments with all the background noise together with a matching adaption of the perceived room acoustics. For this purpose, the natural acoustics of the room was designed to represent a neutral studio or living room. A Vivace system is used to position sound objects with a multi-channel background noise around the listener and to adapt the acoustic properties by using 24 microphones and 45 loudspeakers which are hidden behind sound transparent claddings. The result is an exceptional laboratory room which is lovely to see with open eyes and which provides a perfect illusion with closed eyes.
