As a big fan of the rides, the architecture and all the perfect details of the Europapark it was a great pleasure for me to support the construction of the new water park Rulantica, which is expanding the leading position of the theme park and being the up to now biggest investment of the owner family Mack. Instead of adding sound energy and liveliness as in most of my projects, my job was in this case to find the most efficient way to reduce the noise levels in the huge hall of the water park. To gain the necessary input data for my acoustic simulations I got the opportunity to perform sound level measurements in the Water world Wet'n'Wild Sydney during one of my visits for the Sydney Opera House Renewal project. Thank you, Chip Cleary, for making this possible! After its inauguration I had up to now only two times the opportunity to visit this wonderful attraction and enjoying slides, rivers and pools without the usually omnipresent terrible noise. But luckily my next visit is already planned!
