Dividing an existing church into a depot for sacral art on the ground floor and a newly designed church room on the first floor was a quite extraordinary project resulting in a tent like shape for the new congregation space. With elements at the glass facade serving acoustic as well as shading purposes it was possible to hide the rest of the acoustic measures in a way that the clear and inviting architectural concept was not affected.
Providing a design of the sound reinforcement system which precisely covers the listeners was another key element to make speech intelligible and at the same time keep the acoustical impression of a sacred room.
