Gebläsehalle Duisburg

The revitalization of old industrial halls in the Ruhrgebiet accompanied my working life for a couple of years after the turn of the millennium. The Gebläsehalle in Duisburg which is now a very special location for drama theatre, chamber music or corporate events was the first in a long line of projects. Moving up the floor height of the hall by 4 m and changing its acoustic properties took less than one year between the start of the planning and the first performance in September 2002. The combination and the immanent contrast between the old and somehow deteriorated buildings with new artistic ideas has always been incredibly fascinating for me.
