Concert Hall Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Florence

Supporting my former colleague Jürgen Reinhold in creating an innovative acoustic design for the new concert hall of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence was a good practical test for my new developed acoustic simulation tools. The difficult task in this project was to create a transparent and enveloping orchestra sound inside the existing concrete structure which has been built together with the opera hall in 2011. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to hear a concert in the new hall after its inauguration December 2021 but critics and the comments of musicians and conductors reported to me sound very promising.
